Didianne Leusink (1996, NL) is a visual artist who is intrigued by human interference within the natural world. Her physical work mostly derives from organic matter and craftsmanship. In Leusink’s art practice, raw materials such as grinded stones, plants and ashes exist alongside handcrafted glass djembe’s (drums), ceramic vases and painted curtains - objects that have obtained a more recognizable form. Her slow making processes and focused yet intuitive handwork allows for improvisation. In doing so, variations, symbiosis and rhythms emerge. This results in an ever-changing archive of physical and non-physical entities. Her archive consists of performative objects and (living) materials with which Leusink ultimately aims for a deeper understanding of time and the experience of the present.
